SUBJECT: Supreme Pizzaonian grants his first one on one interview.
Today Supreme Pizzaonian, Brother Giovanni consented to a private interview with this reporter. Though the SP frequently makes himself available at press conferences, the one on one interview opportunity is rare.
We had no restrictions imposed upon us and none of the questions were known in advance by the SP.
Q. Your recent visit to the so called “real world” caught everyone by surprise. Did you find anything different from your original experience as a real worldonian native?
SP. Yes, I was caught off guard by how contentious everything is. There is little chance for positive solutions to their many ills at this time since all factions only seem interested in power rather than answers.
Q. What was the purpose of your trip? You seemed anxious with the possible effect their world could eventually have on your Pizzaonian world.
SP. First I was filled with nostalgia since I was going back to my former home. You can’t help but look forward to visiting once familiar places and perhaps seeing some former friends along the way. Unfortunately, that feeling was short-lived and in retrospect somewhat naïve.
Q. Did you feel disappointment in what you found?
SP. Very much so. My concern for how they can affect our world grew very rapidly. It is hard to explain how set and rigid real worldonian politics have become. You have to be concerned how disarrayed their leadership seems to be.
Here we exist without governments and wars, a condition that real worldonian’s find hard to accept, much less believe. Our only institution that partially resembles what they have in their so-called democracies is our Pizzaonian Supreme Court. And as you know, our court is an arbitration board rather than an actual court in the real sense of the word.
Q. What is hard to understand is how you exist without the customary institutions necessary to protect individuals, corporations and even countries? Can you explain that?
SP. No, unless you are a Pizzaonian it is impossible to explain what we have here. Suffice it to say; when an entire culture has dedicated itself to the making of a pure pizza, contentiousness is not part of the DNA here.
We are also a spiritual culture in practice as well as name. In addition, we are completely ecumenical in our approach to all people and faiths; all are welcomed and embraced as equals.
Q. Does that mean you have no disputes or differences amongst you?
SP. Of course not, we have all the same issues as people have everywhere regardless of what world they may live in. What is different here is we believe in resolution as a dogmatic first principal of our spiritual tradition. I cannot help but reflect this is nothing more than what many real worldonians profess to believe, but never in fact carry out in their lives. End of part one.
Due to the length of this interview we will divide it into three parts. In our next session the Supreme Pizzaonian will discuss how his position as both temporal and spiritual ruler fits in with their philosophy. Also he comments on his feelings about the current political crisis in the United States and how this may affect the Pizzaonian world.
