In a surprising and quick decision the nine judges of PIFPOUT (Pizzaonian Institute for the Pursuit of Useless Thought) ruled without official comment that “ordinary people doing extraordinary things” is a non sequitur.

 

The ruling gives Pizzaonians the confidence to use this essentially meaningless phrase as if it really means something since it has officially been declared meaningless.

 

The Institute's judges didn't follow their usual liberal/conservative 4- 4 split with the swing vote deciding the outcome. 

 

In a statement from the court’s public relations office  they said, “since the statement 'ordinary people doing extraordinary things' is obviously meaningless in content and subject to many variations, the Institute feels any official comment would simply provide more meaningless dialog to an already meaningless statement.”

After a brief opening ceremony, PIFPOUT (Pizzaonian Institute for the Pursuit of Useless Thought) went immediately to work on their first major project.

 

Wasting no time on easy issues, the Institute is determined to resolve the question whether ordinary people doing extraordinary things become extraordinary by their actions.  Or as one strong faction within the Institute is arguing, ordinary things become extraordinary by the actions of extraordinary people.

 

The question now under scrutiny by the Institute is considered useless by everyone with an IQ higher than a Pizzaonian simple bread pizza and as a result has gone unresolved for centuries. 

 

Pizzaonian thinking, however, believes that questions like the one being considered, can lead to solutions to other unresolved issues whose questions are yet to be asked.

 

PIFPOUT will release its full report within a week.

SUBJECT:  New Institute formed in Pizzaonia,

Pizzaonian Institute For the Pursuit of Useless Thought     “PIFPOUT”

 

In order to serve the Worldonian world better it became obvious a new concept was needed to make sense of Worldonian politics and events.  It was unanimously agreed the best vehicle to do this was the formation of “PIFPOUT.”

 

PIFPOUT is a think tank that will bring the best Pizzaonian thinkers together to ponder and make sense of useless thought now so prevalent in the Worldonian experience.

 

Focusing more on Worldonia (your world) would also benefit Pizzaonians by giving them a better view of how World politics and social concepts are developed and how they contribute to everyday life.

 

The formation of such a think tank was met with great optimism and it is hoped useless questions simply left without explanation will now receive equal treatment in the bizarre world of Worldonian logic.

 

Two questions now being debated with great vigor are the meaning of the phrase “ordinary people doing extraordinary things” and how to better define “organized anarchy as compared to disorganized anarchy.”

Let these words be a challenge to all those who know they are not fulfilling the gift they have been given.  There is no greater despair than to be at the end and realize you have wasted your treasure.

 

And what is that gift?  The treasure of what is uniquely you.  The completion of your being can only happen when your gift is given freely with the courage to face where it will take you.  That courage is rare, but now is the time for you to risk it all and see if you are worthy of the talents you have been given.

Heard a rumor yesterday that America is engaged in two wars

Heard a rumor yesterday that America is engaged in two wars.  I was told that the wars are costing billions of dollars and incredible suffering in loss of life and treasure.

 

Being concerned I went to two of our major daily newspapers in this area to find out more and strangely enough could not find any mention of any war.

 

Maybe it’s a rumor after all.

Thoughts from Pizzaonia on why America's current wars stink!

 

The problem with our present wars is that they are not really our wars.  We are willing to let them be someone else’s wars -- the selective few that choose to volunteer.  Because they volunteer, we can rest easy in our willingness to let someone else’s sons and daughters die for us.

 

That is why these wars stink, because we are not willing as a nation to pay the price that all wars should demand – equal sacrifice from all of us.

 

So most of us live our daily lives without need to worry about the price.  And, of course, we are all to ready to honor the service of those who sacrifice, since they insulate us from having to honor the need for our sacrifice.

 

And, of course this needless tragedy continues with its loss of all lives and everyones treasure. And while this all goes on America is at the Mall.
