CONJECTURES OF A RECOVERING DILETTANTE
All I know is there’s something wrong here and it’s serious. At a time when the nation needs everyone pulling together, we have elected politicians who are either so callous they care only for themselves, or they have become misanthropes so infatuated with their myopic vision of America they have lost their way.
So its time to throw the rascals out, but who do we put in their place except another rascal? This is our dilemma. So I propose another action. We do nothing.
Strange as this seems it may be our only solution. Each election we go to the polls. We have a choice: we vote for the incumbent; we vote for the main challenger, or we vote for some relatively unknown politician who is as likely to be elected as my becoming the President. And, no matter what we do we always end up in the same place. Obviously, this isn’t working.
So how about doing nothing – well almost nothing. We show up at the polls on Election Day and we turn in an empty ballot. Just think what the effect could be – about 132 million Americans show up on Election Day and seventy per cent of them don’t vote for anyone. Wow, that would be some message! At least we would finally get someone’s attention.
The nut cases on the right and the left would vote their usual Pavlovian choices, but the rest of us would simply say, no thanks, none of you make the grade. Just maybe we would begin to take the country back. What a statement this would make this November. The numbers would tell the story.

What is it in the human condition that allows one to persist with their mistakes? I believe this happens when we confuse an action with a goal.
We should persist with our goals, but when an action continues to get negative results its time to rethink that action and get back on course. Think about it.

How come religious people give religion such a bad name? This question has bugged me for years. Why do so many religious institutions create intolerance when they think they are preaching tolerance?
One of the reasons seems to be that many of the believers of these institutions know little of what their faith is really about. This will seem harsh to many believers, but take a good look at how badly religion is perceived to be by millions of people and you begin to get the idea. Surely, a loving Creator didn’t have this confusion in mind.
In the world I live in the most obvious arenas of intolerance seem to abound in the Christian right. (I am not sure there is a Christian left.) I know there are other faiths throughout the world that are equal opportunity practitioners of bigotry, but I will stick with what I think I know best.
I know this is going to upset a lot of people, but don’t you think we have to ask the question why we piss off half the world or more when the basis of our faith is love? There is something basically wrong here.
The area I would like to explore is why so many Christian institutions feel they need to protect God. So many of the dogmas that create intolerance are essentially created to protect an omnipotent being who can probably take care of him or her Self.
Yes, I too am a Christian, but I need help with this one. Maybe someone out there can help me. In the meanwhile, I am going to explore this seeming contradiction for the next few days.

PIZZAONIAN NEWS ALERT - Intelligence leaks lead to strange bedfellows
In a surprising development, undisclosed intelligence leaks disclose confidential memos between AHU, (Aborigine Homosexuals United), representatives of the Pizzaonian Monasteries and American Pizza Alliance, a Worldonian protest group that opposes Pizzaonian Imperialism.
This strange alliance developed as a result of the continuing homosexual orgies that started when heterosexual married men came out of the closet by the thousands after same sex marriage was ratified in Pizzaonian, reinforcing the worst fears of the Pizzaonian religious right.
These memos disclose for the first time serious contact between Worldonian and Pizzaonian organizations, which have been to this point, serious adversaries.
In addition, it is widely speculated that the American Pizza Alliance will attempt to have Pizza declared as a drug and placed under the control of the Controlled Substance Center, a government bureau that regulates controlled substances in Worldonia.
All of this came about when it was disclosed that Pizzaonian imperialism now dominates Worldonian pizza production. This and the seemingly unending orgies by newly proclaimed homosexual men in Pizzaonia are creating very strange bedfellows.

In a stunning move, Pizzaonian homosexual organizations announced their complete opposition to the outbreak of homosexuality among Pizzaonian men since same sex marriage was made legal.
To distinguish themselves as separate from the men now engaged in the orgy still taking place at Municipal Stadium, they have chosen to label themselves as Aborigine Homosexuals United. (AHU)
“These men are a joke. They are giving us a bad name and in no way represent who and what we are,” said Petrino Sexolus, leader of the aborigine group. Attempts to stop the sexual anarchy taking place at the stadium have all failed since the police and local militias are participating in the orgy.
It is rumored that the religious right is considering joining forces with the AHU in an attempt to bring order back to Pizzaonia. If so, this would make the strangest and most interesting collaboration in Pizzaonian history.

Yesterday Pizzaonia became the first beta-world country to sanction and ratify same sex marriage. Now for the first time conventional man and woman marriages share equality with same sex couples.
Unfortunately, the worst fears of the conservative religious right of Pizzaonia became a reality. The nightmare that ensued is ongoing and shows no signs of letting up.
Immediately after the announcement it is estimated that 40,000 or more heterosexual married men gathered at the main capital’s municipal soccer stadium and began a wild and drunken, sexual orgy that shows no sign of ending.
This action seems to confirm the religious right’s worst fears that ordinary, married heterosexual men would disregard their tradition and opt for the homosexual lifestyle if allowed to do so.
“For years we have lived the lie that being married and heterosexual was normal. Now are shackles are off and we are doing are thing” one man was reported to have said.
As the orgy continued and spilled into the streets police and local militia were called to restore peace only to find out that they were participating in the orgy as well. We understand that police dogs also were involved.
“Law and order have broken down!” yelled one man as he ran to join the revelers at the stadium.
Professor Peppi Doughi, dean of the Pizza Institute, said “once we entered into the agreement of “Pizza and Faith” with pizza conglomerate, Pizza digogo DiVinci, it was the beginning of the end of our culture as we knew it. Once Pizzaonia became a Pizza imperialistic power there was no turning back. We are now seeing the effects of this merger.”
Other Pizzaonian sociologists blame the breakdown on the open portalization policy that allowed thousands of pizza bakery workers to come to Pizzaonia. “We could not assimilate that many people into our beta-world traditions” said one expert who asked to remain anonymous.
As of now there is no comment from Sister Veronica, Supreme Pizzaonian. The Pizzaonian Monasteries are a powerful political force here and they will no doubt be involved in the resolution of this crisis.

It is estimated that each Worldonian eats 365 pieces of pizza a year. This amounts to total capitulation by Worldonian pizza forces and the pretense by Pizzaonia that pizza imperialism was in a beginning stage. This has been exposed as a ruse to keep this information from being discovered by the more radical Worldonian pizza organizations such as The American Pizza
Also unknown at this time is if the aggressive and secret takeover of Worldonian pizza enterprises is the reason for Brother Giovanni returning to Worldonia.
