Disclaimer: The Pizzaonian Council of Monks (PCM) and pizza conglomerate, Pizza digogo DiVinci are concerned when a prominent and respected figure in Pizzaonian politics like Brother Giovanni engages in an activity many Pizzaonians consider weird at best and psychotic at worst.
However, in the interests of full disclosure, we support The Pizzaonian’s decision to publish these letters and conversations between Brother Giovanni and the man he calls “Jesus.” Sister Veronica, Supreme Pizzaonian
Jesus,
Forgive me for not writing sooner. It seems strange to say that. Most people would suppose that getting back to you might have a sense of immediacy to it.
As you know, I am still getting some flack here about these letters. At least here in Pizzaonia, we have some people who believe it is plausible to be getting letters from you. Unfortunately, when I portalize to the United States - because of our correspondence, everyone there believes that I am a complete “nut case.”
It is of some note that while many Americans choose to proclaim a belief in a loving and very real God, if that loving and very real God chooses to speak or write to them individually, that individual is labeled “seriously disturbed.”
Equally amazing is how people in the U.S. will believe the most outrageous, dubious and unsubstantiated negative assertions that confirm their prejudices, particularly when those assertions are aimed at those they choose to hate. And, then without any hesitation or logic, deny the possibility of any actual human conversation and interaction with a God they believe to be real. Very strange…….
I suspect this has a lot to do with “playing it safe.” Imagine if they really believed in You how they would have to change the way they live their lives.
The other area that really seems to bother your “true believers” in the United States is the appreciation that you are fully human like they are, and suffer and enjoy all the things they suffer and enjoy on a daily basis.
I think their reaction to these letters prove this.
I thought you might find this interesting. Since I am a Pizzaonian Christian, I recently found myself visiting with some Christians in the U.S. At the end of our visit, I said as they departed, “God bless you - I love you.” They were somewhat taken back.
Somewhere along the line it has been forgotten that you originally said, “They will know you by the love you have for one another.” Yes, I know it was much for me to do that, but I could not resist the “I love you” part. I don't want to seem self-righteous here, since I am equally guilty - but I do enjoy making the point from time to time.
Before I forget, thanks for the support and recognizing the flack I am taking – it helps coming from you. And, I too am looking forward to sharing our Miracle Mozzarella Pizzas with you – there is none better in either universe. I hope Sister Veronica and Brother Franco can join us. I know they are anxious to meet you.
Brother Franco will pester you about what went on in Rome. He is the most anti Catholic, Catholic I know. But in his heart, he is a true believer. As for Sister Veronica, she is still skeptical that you are who you say you are. She is open-minded, however, and I know you will find her very interesting.
Well, enough for now. I will forward this to your last address and wait for you to let me know when you will be in Pizzaonia – till then,
Your grateful friend,
Brother Giovanni
In the interest of full disclosure we need to point out that Sister Veronica is also the well know contributing editor to "The Pizzaonian," Vera V.Veronica
