The idea that a country can exist without a government or war is an alien concept for many.
That was not always the case here. There was a time when we had as much strife as you have in your world. The shocking but simple truth: For strife and conflict to exist you have to want it to exist. Hard to believe since virtually everyone you talk to will tell you they prefer peace to conflict.
Unfortunately, what they really mean is they want peace, but if their peace means you must have war and conflict – then so be it.
Take the United States as an example. It has an economy that has to expand continually in order to survive. This model is now the example the third world now accepts as their model too.
As a result, you all see yourselves in compition with each other. This means that when times get tough, the haves begin to make sure the have nots stay that way. Where does that leave you? Look at the tensions and strife that exist in your world bringing misery to millions and you begin to get the idea.
For many of you I am sure you are beginning to think things such as equality and redistribution of wealth, and all the emotional garbage that comes with those terms. They are all bogus.
For peace to exist everywhere, you do not need economic equality. Why? Because the so-called poor do not care how much the rich have, as long as they can stop being poor and live their lives and raise their families with some dignity and grace.
If it is this simple, why isn’t it done! Because as the poor become middle class, and more politically and economically aware, the vicious circle of always needing more than you have raises its ugly head.
Add to this, the rich obviously believe there is a finite limit to the world’s wealth - and there are a lot more poor folks than rich folks. Thus begins the process of bringing the middle class down. This vicious cycle occurs with some frequency in your history.
