The Pizzaonian Space Institute released today new, extraordinary photos of a black hole as seen from the Pizzaonian magnifier camera on board the Mozzarella space probe. (See below)
What makes these photos unique is their high resolution and magnification, 10,000 times greater than the original photos first published.
The Mozzarella space probe has exceeded all expectations by continuing to resist the effects of high gamma radiation and heat levels beyond human imagination.

The Pizzaonian Foundation for Intellectual Advancement announced today the creation of a new discipline called Scienosophy. Edward Reachouti, director of PFIA, called this “a lifelong dream come true.”
“Here at PFIA we knew the idea of combining the vagaries of science and philosophy would someday come together and share equal vagueness as a recognized, separate discipline,” said Mr. Reachouti. Many of the delegates here feel the new Scienosophy will give unproven theoretical knowledge and speculation the respect it deserves from the intellectual and scientific community at large.
Another aspect of Scienosophy is that the new science gives fresh validation to the alternate universe theory, which is very important here in Pizzaonia. Pizzaonia, an unrecognized alternate universe occupying the same space and time as the United States, has for years sought validation as a separate entity.
Pizzaonia, with its rich tradition of cooperation between our religious and business communities is the ideal place to pursue the new and brave frontier of Scienosophy. The Pizzaonian Monasteries and the international pizza conglomerate, Pizza digogo DiVinci have worked together for many years to give speculation and subjective thought the rightful place it deserves in Academia.
One of the exciting aspects of this new discipline is that it will bring together the most vague and theoretical concepts of theology and quantum mechanics into a combined field of study. This will give long overdue credence to speculative concepts and ideas that have had to mask themselves in other disciplines. "Yes, they can finally come out of the closet and claim their rightful place as a recognized field of study," said Mr. Reachouti
The College of Scienosophy will be accepting applications from prospective candidates sometime next month. PFIA is expecting a large response and has assembled a committee of our most speculative and subjective scholars to select the first 400 members for the first class.

At what point did we stop trying to figure out whether anything makes sense anymore - probably, at the point when everything became absurd, and being absurd became the new normal.
What is strange about this is that you get the impression no one but you has noticed. It is very hard to buck the trend when you are the only sane person left. Of course, since you are sane, you immediately wonder if you are insane since you seem to be the only one who has noticed the difference- this is what any sane person would think.
So, you see our unfortunate dilemma, when absurdity becomes the norm, we all suffer from collective insanity. Therefore, it is perfectly logical to wage war for peace, teach poor people a lesson about life by making sure they stay poor, and credit any good that has come to you as being a product of your superior intelligence and hard work.
You can add to this a democracy where knowing how to get elected is valued and knowing how to govern doesn’t seem to matter very much – and so on and so on ……….. (Election 2016?)
An afterthought - In a world of absurdity it is only a question of time in a free economy, that we will have commission sales agents selling democratic governments to the highest bidder - in an absurd world a very reasonable concept. Of course, that could never happen in the United States.
And you wonder why we chose to portalize to Pizzaonia.

IN OUR OPINION … Observations from Pizzaonia
This and that:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and corporations are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness -- and unlimited power."
IS IT POSSIBLE American voters are as stupid as the politicians believe them to be. Unfortunately, our WEP survey analysis says yes - they are. How else can you explain the rhetoric of the current presidential campaign?
HOW DID IT HAPPEN? When did the American religious right become a political party rather than a church? Our WEP survey results show this happened shortly after somebody looked in the donation plate and said, “You know there is big money to be made here.”
WHY IS IT? Americans are troubled about gun control, pro and con, yet do not seem bothered by the culture of vicarious* violence they have created. It permeates everything from entertainment, to ongoing, endless wars, to politics, to sports – and no one seems concerned.
*vicarious only to the non-victims (spectators)
THE GOOD NEWS: Their still is a strong incentive within the American culture to remain true to the course their founding fathers set for them. The possibility of evolving slowly toward a more perfect union still exists. However, our WEP research shows this fundamental belief, that helped create the United States is in jeopardy.
As of now, though the core belief remains, the country has neither the voter will nor political character to maintain this tradition. We would rather chase demagogues than debate the issues. As to foreign policy in these troubled times - we would rather be entertained with inflammatory rhetoric. Who is ultimately responsible – the voters or the politicians? Some believe the people always get what they deserve. It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

Today at the opening of the Pizzaonian Art Institute’s seminar on the state of Pizzaonian art, Abe Straction, newly appointed, permanent curator of the Institute, declared the death of the literal image as a viable art form.
It should be clear to all who have followed art for the last 100 years that the literal image has become so ubiquitous, cliched and mechanical in its rendition it is now insignificant as a form of communication in the digital age. This is the major theme of this year’s meetings.
“Perhaps, one could argue there is some usefulness in the literal image as a reminder of a past age, but when examined closely even that fades,” declared Mr. Straction
The focus of discussions here at the seminar is on what happened to the literal image after it was co-opted as a marketing tool to sell and propagandize. The advance of technology and the notion that everyone is “an artist” was simply one more “nail in the coffin.”
Obviously, not everyone agrees, however, this controversy will only grow louder as Mr. Straction gains more credibility in the Pizzaonian art establishment.

Our inside informant told us today that they were informed by an unnamed aide close to one of the current, but not yet named, presidential candidates that in the next few days their candidate will break with all precedents and start talking about issues.
As hard as it is to believe, we are assured this information is correct. When asked why this was about to happen our informant told us they had determined by their polling stats their candidate will lose the election by continuing with the current election strategy of trashing their opponent.
“This is a desperation strategy that we know is unheard of, but we feel that desperate circumstances call for desperate actions. We are aware that the American people are not used to dealing with the hard facts, but that is the chance we will have to take,” said our informant.
This will be interesting to watch and see unfold. No one in our newsroom can remember a presidential election in recent history that dealt with issues. Please know we checked our information carefully before releasing this news bulletin. This is also unprecedented.

Today the Pizzaonian Department of Portalization said they could no longer keep up with the portalization request pouring in from the United States.
The most widespread reason for wanting to portalize to beta-world Pizzaonia is a compulsive desire to escape “talk radio and television.”
Comments such as “I can’t take it anymore, you must help me” are common. O. Pen Dorsi, head of Pizzaonian Portalization, said she has never seen anything like this. “We are overwhelmed. Our portalization cyclotron has never been used to this extent. I don’t know if we can keep this up,” said Ms Dorsi
United States citizens have the right to portalize to Pizzaonia if their lives seem like they are in a “Woody Allen” movie. Pizzaonian portalization officials are currently reexamining this policy.

Bits and pieces while moving west…
Nothing is more amusing to Pizzaonians than to watch and listen to the arrogant self-rightesnous of political commentators in the United States.
When Pizzaonians discovered that we no longer had a need for government, it was not because our government was intrinsically bad. It was because people cannot help themselves and always use government to solidify their personal positions. Power corrupts; it does not have to be absolute power to do so.
In the United States, the use of government to feather your own nest has become an art form. Unfortunately, the art form should be governing.
Do you think the Democrats are aware that the Republicans have stolen the political agenda? The Democrats remind me of the man that keeps showing up at parties without pants. Everybody knows it but him.

I do not understand why the leaders of the American labor moment do not understand they are the problem. They have taken a movement that is responsible for virtually every good thing the working person has earned in the work place and reduced it to whimpering insignificance.
Our advice: Get back on track and become the American labor movement again. God knows the American worker has never needed you more.

Breaking News ..................
The Pizzaonian Institute for Political Research has released its long-awaited report on the events and causes of the current American recession.
In retrospect, it is amazing how close the American economy was to complete disintegration. When the world’s greatest economy is brought to near collapse, it becomes critically important to understand the reasons for such a calamitous event.
The full study, which is 1,126,275 pages long, will be released in its entirety later this year. However, in this first report, the researchers believed two main reasons primarily responsible for causing this disastrous financial happening.
This first report will focus on these two reasons:
First, clearly the American labor movement overpowered the power of the politicians. The federal and state governments were no match for the cunning of the labor leaders. In addition, their cunning went beyond overpowering government leaders. They also outmaneuvered the corporations and the powerful political lobbies that supported the once dominant business and banking communities.
As a result, American corporate and banking interest were overwhelmed and surrendered to American labor. Only now are they beginning to recover from this disaster.
Second, the political organizations that represent the poor and disenfranchised in the United States managed to overpower the banks. Banks were literally forced to make millions of no down payment, low-interest loans to poor and disenfranchised Americans.
The banks seemed helpless against the political power of the unemployed and the disenfranchised as they totally surrendered to their demands.
Finally, because of these loans, the financial resources of the banks were exhausted and the banking system came close to complete collapse. Only now are the banks beginning to recover from this financial onslaught against their integrity.
The report is careful to detail these two events as the main causes of the current financial malaise in the United States. These events should be a warning to all western democracies as to what can happen when political power is not shared equally. We hope that the American corporate and banking communities will learn from these events and begin again to rebuild their power base.
